{"id":19,"date":"2016-03-07T18:04:39","date_gmt":"2016-03-07T18:04:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mpac.509j.net\/?page_id=19"},"modified":"2016-04-25T18:44:33","modified_gmt":"2016-04-25T18:44:33","slug":"about-our-facility","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mpac.509j.net\/?page_id=19","title":{"rendered":"About our facility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the Madras Performing Arts Center, our beautiful 600-seat facility located in Jefferson County, Oregon.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-18 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/mpac.509j.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/03\/cropped-1-1024x458.jpg\" alt=\"cropped-1.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"286\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-18\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The height and prominent location of the PAC adds visual recognition to the building.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mpac.509j.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/03\/2.jpg\" alt=\"2\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mpac.509j.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/03\/2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mpac.509j.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/03\/2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The 600-seat auditorium includes the latest in sound and lighting equipment.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Our facility\u00a0includes a 600-seat auditorium with state of the art lighting and sound equipment, a combination green room \/ community room, and shared space with the Athletic Department stadium and sports fields. \u00a0This\u00a034,000 sq ft facility was \u00a0funded by a $26.7 million bond measure approved by the voters of Jefferson County School District in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The Madras PAC is on the leading edge of performing arts technology, and includes automated controls for lighting and sound, programmable light sequencing and the ability to operate remotely. \u00a0The auditorium stage is spring-boarded, which makes it ideal for dancers, while \u201cacoustic clouds\u201d hanging from the auditorium, sound absorbing panels and even seating design contributes to maximizing sound quality and projection ability. \u00a0It\u00a0has an expansive stage and professional quality dressing rooms complete with closed-circuit TV, so performers can check in on production progress.<\/p>\n<p>Nearby, a spacious \u201cgreen room\u201d complete with kitchenette used as a gathering place by actors, dancers and band members preparing to enter the stage, \u00a0doubles as a multipurpose room for the district for staff training and is\u00a0available for community use.<\/p>\n<p>An assembly of railed catwalks is arrayed above the stage, where crew hands can operate the lights and other equipment, while the new technology will also provide students in the school\u2019s drama program a chance to learn back room roles involved in production, such as lighting technicians and stage management. \u00a0A system of automated pulleys extending from a fly loft area is also in place for maximum flexibility in the streamlined shifting of scenery and backdrops.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-16 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mpac.509j.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/03\/3.jpg\" alt=\"3\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mpac.509j.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/03\/3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mpac.509j.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/03\/3-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-16\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The public entrance lobby area provides ample room for audiences to congregate or enjoy intermissions, while extensive use of glass adds to the airy feel, complemented by a cascading curved staircase leading to the upper level of the auditorium.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the Madras Performing Arts Center, our beautiful 600-seat facility located in Jefferson County, Oregon.
